MERIDIAN, ID – A new art exhibit titled Back from Sequester will be on display on Monday July 3 through Friday, July 28, in the Initial Point Gallery located on the third floor of Meridian City Hall. The show will feature works by five local artists: Dennis Hayzlett, Edie Martin, Jean Ah Fong, Lauren Johnson, and Susan Kluksdal. The exhibit will present sights that felt out of reach to the artists during 2020 lockdowns and travel restrictions. The artists create colorful paintings of local sites, intending to express the joy of social connection and free movement. On view will also be glass fusion pieces by Edie Martin, who experiments with new techniques, styles, and forms.

The public is invited to view the art and meet the artists at an artists’ reception to be held Tuesday, July 11, from 4:30 – 7:00 pm, in the gallery, located at 33 E. Broadway Avenue in downtown Meridian. Refreshments will be served.

Initial Point Gallery, which is curated by the Meridian Arts Commission, features a rotating series of art exhibits highlighting a variety of local, regional and national artists. It is open weekdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, excluding federal holidays. Admission to the gallery and opening reception is free.
